Freedom House Facilities

Freedom House Teen Challenge relocated to Checotah, Oklahoma in 2013 following the donation of a building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building had been used as an orphanage and retirement home and currently is the residence of Freedom House Teen Challenge whose ministry offers women the hope of life transformation.

Since acquiring the building, with the help of some amazing organizations, we have been working to restore and update the facilities.

  • Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka has awarded Teen Challenge of Oklahoma $385,000 towards restoring the east wing

  • Triad Transportation donated $150,000 towards the restoration of the roof and the west wing of Freedom House.

  • Peace of the Rock, Inc. donated $25,000 towards the renovation of the west wing in the Spring of 2013.

  • The Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation granted Freedom House $10,000 to upgrade education facilities in the Fall of 2013.

  • Various churches, individuals and community groups have donated money and volunteer hours towards seeing this beautiful historic place restored while giving it a new purpose for those needing hope.
